Profile Information

Who are you?
I've always lived in California. I'm the youngest of 6 and very close to my Christian, Nicaraguan, Mid-western, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Persian, and Ethiopian family (gotta love the culture my many in-laws bring!) Inclusion of people is very important to me as I grew up in a family of mostly immigrants and heard the exclusion stories they sometimes experienced. Life is hard enough as it is, so it sucks when others make it even harder! I aim to be a "path clearer" (not a blocker) and do what I can to keep the folks moving on those paths.
I'm looking for?
Diverse Friendships, Learn more about diversity
What is your occupation?
Quality Validation Specialist and Diversity Council Chairperson at Bayer in Berkeley, CA
What do you like to do with your spare time?
Hang out with friends and family. Swim. Play piano and guitar (and sing along). Listen to music. Okay...Karaoke too (I took over my boyfriend's xbox and my neighbors just love me)
What type of music do you listen to?
Reggae, Classic Soul and R&B, Classic Rock, Easy Rock, Hip Hop
Favorite Movies?
Lord of the Rings series, Grease, Return to Me, Heart and Souls
Favorite books?
Bible, The Five People You Meet in Heaven
Favorite place to visit?
Families' homes; New Orleans, Berkeley Tuolumne Family Camp, Yosemite Park (any cool national park, really); Lake Tahoe; San Luis Obispo, CA

Hey Sandy, nice quote! now how do we get that message across the world. I'm a dancing foul! I am trying to get with the ball room dancing and the salsa at this point, I think I mastered reggae and soul dancing. Do you know anything about that? You are so right this is an awsome site and I am so glad Steve set it up so we can all keep in touch and along the way help someone that is in need for diversity in their lives. You have many talents in the form of art, so do you know anything about the 2 dances I talked about above? Cynthia

Hi Sandy -- it was great meeting you at Boot Camp! Never let anyone tell you that you aren't a talented Karaoke singer/performer because we all know differently!
